collect a tee from our SPRING/BREAK artists

The SPRING/BREAK Art Show may be over, but you can still support the artists from our booth! We’ve collabed with Jen, Tom, and Sophie to design and produce limited edition tees using images of their work.

Each is an edition of 10 and printed on cozy American Apparel tees.

Click your fave shirt and collect one -or all three- today! Net profits are split 50/50 with each artist as part of our Artist Stipend Program - providing community-supported funds to artists for their labor and creative efforts.

Some works from to be one and myself are also still available to purchase through the SPRING/BREAK website until the end of April. You can browse the booth collection at springbreakartfair.com

The only stipulation is that designs should visually represent the vibe and spirit of two of United’s key regions: California and New York/New Jersey.

It’s free to submit, and the deadline to apply is March 24th, 2019 at 11:59pm EST

Why Should Artists Get Paid?

We stumbled on an article from 2016 on Huffington Post and feel it’s still relevant today to discuss the importance of valuing our artists and creatives! Artists work hard and put a lot of time, energy (and their own money) into all of the projects they take on, and unfortunately the standard is often still to not pay them at all or underpay them for their efforts.

One of our main missions with PARADICE PALASE is to raise awareness about and visibility for artists and convert it into crowdfunded stipends for each and every artist we work with. We hope this can be a model to grow and shift the way the art world and the public interacts with art spaces and supports artists.

Watch Tiffany Smith's Artist Talk

Missed our last session of Artist Curated Cinema at Bizarre Bar? Have no fear, the power of recording technology is here! We will be recording the artist talk portions of each session this year and will post them here on our blog! It’s a great way to archive each session, allow the artist to have record of their slide talk, and make it easier for Palase fans across the interwebs to enjoy our program too!

Tune in to Tiffany’s talk above about her photo based practice exploring her heritage and relationship to the Caribbean.
