PARADICE PALASE strives to democratize the contemporary art ecosystem for both creators and patrons by offering career-forward mentoring, programming, and resources. We connect our artist network to their peers, to industry professionals, to art business & artist development resources, and to external opportunities. We also curate presentations through partnerships with likeminded creative organizations. Past partners have included NADA, Future Fair, The Other Art Fair, Uprise Art, and House of Yes. In 2024 we launched a Residency Fellowship in partnership with ChaNorth (Pine Plains, NY) awarded to one active member per year.
Kat Ryals and Lauren Hirshfield founded the platform in 2017 after bonding over entry barriers they each faced trying to navigate the NYC art world post-art school. Started as an apartment curatorial program in Bushwick, from 2019 - 2024 we moved to a commercial space near the Gates J and ran the gallery and Oasis Studios - a 1,600 square foot, 10-person, studio workspace. The membership expanded from 2020 onward into the operation it is today.
A forever women-led org, Paradice Palase is the love child of DIY and art world utopia.
