Sophia Sobers is an artist based in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in interdisciplinary work that spans installation, sound, and site-specific art. Her practice investigates the relationship between built and natural environments, utilizing digital tools and material experimentation to explore systems, structures, and scales. Sobers earned her MFA in Digital + Media from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2013 and a BS in Architecture from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2011. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including solo exhibitions in Boston, New York City and Pittsburgh. She has created public art installations for Cherry Blossoms in Winter (Newark, NJ), the I-195 Redevelopment Commission (Providence, RI) and Alloy Pittsburgh (Swissvale, PA). Sobers has performed both solo and collaborative sound performances at notable venues such as the Knockdown Center, the Rubin Museum, and Wallplay: On Canal.
