Uprise Art Collaborative Collection

Dwellings by Liesl Pfeffer

At Rest by Roche

As part of our 2023 partnership with Uprise Art, we are very excited to share the collection we have curated for their site. The Collaborative Collection includes artwork by Uprise roster artists:

Eddie Perrote, Angel Oloshove, Adrian Kay Wong, Michael Northrup, Fay Ku, Ferris McGuinty, Roche, Dolly Faibyshev, Damien Davis, Jieun Jang, Robert Otto Epstein, Liesl Pfeffer, Langdon Graves, Lucha Rodriguez, Martina Lang, Tyler Scheidt, Ferris Mcguinty, Michael Northrup, Nefertiti Jenkins, Ba Ousmane, Padma Rejendran, Matt Neuman, Stacey Beach, and Sarah Ingraham.

  • For this collection, we started by exploring the complete catalog and selecting any artwork that naturally and immediately intrigued either of us. We quickly identified a throughline led by bizarre actions, curious compositions, and sharp color contrast and edited the pool from there. The resulting curation offers a domestic jaunt that previews secrets and fantasies poised around corners and through passageways, points at the thin veil between cheeky and chilling, and tells how the hushed beauty of the mundane may reveal as much about a moment as the loquacious.

Whimsical shadow thrills within Eddie Perrote’s Starchild.

The stretched pluck into Michael Northrup’s Jim Reaching for the Tulips.

A dazzling anonymity behind Dolly Faibyshev’s Orange Woman and a Boxer.

A calculated coziness in monochrome with Robert Otto Epstein’s Cardigan.

Delicate meets razor sharp in Lucha Rodriguez’s Quibre Bahareque IV.

A quirky game of object study is Ferris McGuinty’s Untitled 1702.

Fluttering fluid grace around Ba Ousmane’s Papillon érotiquement couché.

A wash of ghostly serenity in Padma Rejendran’s Pink Waves.

The punny stitch trick of Stacey Beach’s Fringe.

Through each composition there weaves a shiny thread of otherness, reflected in its many forms and attaching these artists and their stories together in a unique way. We hope this collection entices curious collectors to engage with each piece and envision how it can add to their own domestic adventure.
