Caroline Heffron
Caroline Otis Heffron lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. Her painting process begins with drawing and collage that reimagine the relationships of urban workers, street performers, and women reacting to life in public spaces. The backgrounds are distorted to highlight the mixed messaging of animated humans, gestural statues, and symbolic objects. New connections emerge through reworking layers of visual culture and the exploration saturated color and texture. Heffron has been pursuing her painting and ceramics after graduating with her MFA from School of Visual Arts. Heffron’s paintings have been shown at SpringBreak, Studioninedee, Kent State University, Long Island University, and La Mama La Galleria among others.
